About Us

The prime purpose of Self-Realization Fellowship meditation groups is to bring devotees together to seek God and enable earnest aspirants to know Him through direct, personal experience in meditation. Groups of deeply meditating devotees create a powerful spiritual magnet that helps each one experience the Divine Presence within and without. The place where devotees regularly gather to meditate also becomes permeated with divine vibrations and is conducive to God communion. Our chapel is such a place. The Dallas-Ft. Worth Meditation Group was established in 1972. We conduct devotional services that originated with Paramahansa Yogananda in accordance with his teachings and the established guidelines of  Self-Realization Fellowship (SRF). We experience the blessings and guidance from  SRF monastics who visit us to conduct public lectures, retreats, workshops, and give instructions in the SRF techniques of meditation. They also initiate members into the sacred technique brought by Yogananda to the West, Kriya Yoga.

Sunday School

For ages 5 to 12

The Group also conducts Sunday School, social activities, and special events. In Yogananda’s teachings, members find guidance for spiritualizing marriage and family life, creating success and prosperity in business and professional endeavors, and contributing in a meaningful way to their community, nation, and the world at large.

Meditation Services
Welcome to all

The DFW Meditation Group offers a haven for spiritual seekers to gather in divine fellowship and practice the techniques of meditation taught by Yogananda that produce the honey of direct, personal experience of God. There is no registration or fee required to attend any of our services or our Sunday School. All services and activities are open to the public, and everyone is welcome to attend.

Teen Group

For ages 13 & Up

Rooted in Paramahansa Yogananda’s teachings, the program helps teens apply spiritual principles in daily life—supporting them in building strong character, finding purpose, and cultivating inner peace. These formative experiences guide teens in harmonizing their relationships, pursuing academic and personal goals with balance, and becoming positive forces in their communities and the world.

Volunteers

All meditation services, group activities, and operations of the DFW Meditation Group are conducted by devoted volunteers and are coordinated by a five-person Managing Council elected annually by the Group members.

Prayer Request

“A prayer that is strong and deep will definitely receive God’s answer… By the application of science in religion, your uncertain belief in spiritual possibilities can become realization of their highest fulfillment.” ― Paramahansa Yogananda
